SUMMARY:Reedbeds and Waste Water Management
DESCRIPTION:This course explores the technicalities\, design and implementation of reedbeds and alternative waste water treatment systems at a domestic level. \nYou’ll learn about the various options for low impact sewage treatment systems and nutrient recovery. There will be a session on water efficient devices. \nThere will also be a tour of the various systems here at CAT\, and an explanation of the main design features.\nWe will also cover some unique and bespoke alternatives. \n  \nTopics covered include:\n• Primary\, secondary and tertiary treatment\n• Types of systems including reedbeds\, constructed wetlands\, trench arches\, aquatrons and greywater treatment\n• Biological processes\n• Main design aspects and maintenance requirements\n• Location\, regulations and planning \n  \nParticipants will understand the theory and practical application of various types of alternative waste water treatment systems in the UK\, the main design features and the most appropriate application. \n  \nYou can also stay with us B&B (£40)\, half board (£50) or full board (£56).
